
State Vladimir-Suzdal Historical, Architectural and Art Museum is one of the largest objects of tourism in the Vladimir region. It was founded in 1958. The museum complex unites 56 unique architectural monuments of Russian residential, defensive and church architecture located in three cities - Vladimir, Suzdal and Gus-Khrustalny, two villages - Bogolyubovo and Kideksha and the village of Muromtsevo. More than one million people visit the museum-reserve annually. The absolute leader in the number of tourists is Suzdal. The museum organized 48 museum expositions. The most significant collections of the museum are collections of numismatics, archeology, ancient Russian art, painting, art glass. Architectural monuments of the museum-reserve are included in the State Code of especially valuable objects of cultural heritage of Russia. In 2016 Igor Valeryevich Konyshev was appointed general director of the museum.
